The epic 2013 movie “12 Years a Slave”  starring Chiwetel Ejiofor as Solomon Northup, Lupita Nyong’o among other movie stars such as Brad Pitt tackles the sensitive issue of racism and slavery which are typically a contemporary American story. The film tells the story of Solomon Northup who was initially a free black man in the North of America. However, after events leading to his kidnapping reborn as a slave far down the south of the country. Northup finds himself facing the burden of slavery, racial inferiority, and all their accompanying malice as he moves from master to master.
