Tracing back several decades, the journey towards developing a world with gender-free fashion began in the early 1900s when androgynous design took a course in the advancement of male-modeled clothing into female designs (Adil, 2011 and SLINK Magazine, 2015). Some of the people who shed light on the new phenomenon include Katherine Hepburn, a designer renowned for having brought prominent men-inspired trousers and button-down shirts. Hepburn’s unconventional style developed more agitation on fashion-sensitive women. A strong foundation on the trend was established during World War II when the dressing code was fully preferable on women due to the values of comfort and practicality by default.
