Age Diversity in A Workplace Environment

Your team are a handful of HR staff that have been assigned the task of advising the Board of a Company/Organisation on how and why they should improve its workforce diversity. Your team will select an existing company/organization of your choice.
It is often useful if the team has some experience with the company/organization or the industry the selected company is from. Your team will also select one particular diversity dimension that will be the focus of the presentation and report.
The presentation shall be developed as a social intrapreneur’s (social innovation within a company) sales pitch to the Board. It shall be no longer than 15-20 minutes and must include what the social innovation is (Improve diversity), why this is important and also what are the benefits to the organization of this innovation. You can use any multimedia technology available for the presentation which will take place the week after the diversity dimension selected has been presented.
Do research in the area of understanding what a sales pitch is and how to make one. Bearing in mind that this should be a sales pitch and therefore the most important would be to convince the Board that there are several benefits to improving the diversity with regards to the selected diversity dimension.
The presentation should contain the following:
Title of the company, and team members
Brief description of company, industry and current diversity statistics for company/industry (if available). Compared to actual diversity in Australia (ABS Statistics).
Describe the diversity problem or opportunity you wish to solve.
Value proposition (Business case). How will improving the company/organization diversity lead to economic/social/reputational/legal benefits or reduced problems for the company/organisation.
Explain the economic advantages of improving diversity
How will you do it? Describe briefly or in table form what actions need to be taken within the company/organization. (Interventions could include actions such as improved procedures with regards to recruitment, retaining, training staff and other support for a diverse workforce.
Explain what will be major challenges for the company/organization and the employees.
Analyse what may be the consequences for NOT improving diversity
How will the actions be organized, who will be in charge of making the changes?

Age diversity refers to the ability for an organization to accept individuals of different ages and accommodate them within the same working environment (Schneid, Isidor, Steinmetz, & Kabst, 2016). As the ages of employees continue to change, essential adjustments must be made to ensure that integration of the people becomes maintained despite the differences in age. The implementation of age diversity means that an organization is able to accept individuals of all ages within its workforce. The ability to merge individuals of different ages into a single workforce create age diversity within an organization.
