The primary value of studying OB is to uniquely succeed as a leader of an organization or business. Reading about why OB matters, decision-making stood out as the main concern of organizational leaders and employers. This explains why employees become motivated or demotivated to complete their roles and influence the productivity of the organization. Indeed, it is the role of a leader to create an environment where people in an organization can not only be motivated, but also become creative for the success of a business (Perkins & Arvinen-Muondo, 2013). Understanding organizational behavior, therefore, becomes an important starting point to positively influence the business. In particular, understanding and dealing with employees requires a clear awareness of organizational power and politics. As demonstrated by the chapter 1-Organizational Behaviour, the organizational or business environment is constantly changing as characterized by the technological evolution, employee engagement, changing ethics and a flattening world. These changes constantly create a knowledge gap in leadership, a reason why understanding the multiple dimensions of organizational behavior is critical.
