Answer preview
Blindsight, by definition, is the capacity of individuals to respond to visual information even though they cannot see it consciously. Blindsight has been studied over the years to shed more light on the mechanisms that the brain uses to process visual information. It is the primary visual cortex that is responsible for giving people their conscious vision. However, if there is any damage to this area of the brain, most individuals have demonstrated blindsight. This could be interpreted to imply that the unconscious visual perception is controlled by another area found in the brain (Koenig, 2018).
