Developing and promoting brands have been the central goals of advertising. Tell us how you perceive brands. What is a brand, and how does the consumer engage with brands?

My view is that brands come in many sizes and shapes. They don’t appear or behave in a similar manner. For example, a car brand does not exist in the same way as a smartphone brand. Therefore, there is a limited point of approaching brands through a one-fit- all perspective. I would choose a brand over the other based on the perceived value it promises to offer: before consuming a particular brand, it must be convincing to offer value that commensurate with its price.
