As already implied, the California Fair Employment and Housing Act were enacted in 1959 to protect the state’s residents from illegal practices in housing and employment. The law is codified as Government Code §§12900 – 12996. The law illegalizes discrimination in employment and covers apprenticeship programs, employment agencies, labor organizations, employers, and any other individual or entity that incites, abets, aids, compels, or facilitates the commission of a discriminatory action as defined by the law.
