Since the invention of human embryonic stem cells, it is clear that researchers have wished to wield them against an ailment. The search has remained frustratingly slow and labs across the globe have sought to use embryonic stem cells into the pancreas cells. These cells are termed as β cells. It is clear that the β cells have the ability of reacting to rising blood sugar by producing insulin a hormone permitting cells to take up and utilize glucose. Apparently, an autoimmune attack that normally kills β cells results to type 1 diabetes thus replacing with lab-developed cells that might offer a cure.
