However, controlling and eliminating these diseases has not been an easy task due to the following reasons. First, these NTDs bring about asymptomatic infections; hence, identifying the residual transmission focus of the infections becomes a problem (Karl et al., 2015). Many cases go untreated because they are not diagnosed. It would be essential to point out that poor detection of these diseases is quite challenging as it is hard to establish the number of people infected.
