Answer preview
Family therapy approaches are popular in addressing a wide range of behavioral, conduct, and mental disorders, as they acknowledge the fact that the family plays a major part in defining the character, behavior and choices that people make in life. As such, people’s behavior and conduct affects their families, which justifies the need for therapists to place the family approach at the forefront not only during diagnosis, but also in therapy. This essay analyzes a given case study about an individual with conduct disorder, and compares two family therapies, namely the family system’s approach, and the transformational change approach.
