reasoned Decision Making.

Answer preview

Before arguing a point, an advocate needs to apply critical thinking before making a decision. A decision is a process of making thoughtful consideration before choosing among a variety of options for acting or thinking (Austin & Steinberg, 2009). Most scenarios in life require decision making thus critical thinking before picking a stand is vital. Critical thinking is necessary because most of our success in life is mostly dependent on our ability to wise decisions. Deciding on which option is the best decision one needs to engage in argumentation and debate. A debate is an essential form of communication that we conduct in our lives.

Debates may take place in intrapersonal conversations, in which the advocate weighs the pros and cons of an important decision mentally, or they may take place in interpersonal communications, in which an audience listens to arguments, and the advocates intent is to influence the audience’s point of view.
