The emergence of e-commerce systems has given cybercriminals, commonly known as hackers, new avenues to exploit (Broadhurst, 2006). The E-commerce sector is a more sensitive sector that is fast growing. Crime in electronic commerce commonly involves cyber theft of money in transit or stealing of user private information such as credit card numbers and consequently extorting funds (Broadhurst, 2006). Cybercrime has been one of the leading causes of insecurity in information technology (IT) since the inception of the computer. The word was first coined in the early 1980s but its realities have properly been realized in the 21st century when every action on earth is all becoming electronic including trading (Broadhurst, 2006).
