Instructions

  1. Students will turn in a 3-page biopsychosocial of the family experiencing the presenting problem. The family will consist of 3 to 5 members. Students should be familiar with what is included in a biopsychosocial and the format is to be created by them.
  2. Students will turn in a 1page summary of research on the problem/issue the family is experiencing. Cite accordingly.
  3. Students will turn in a 2-page description of the intervention model they would use with their created family in practice. Students must also provide a rationale as to why they would choose this model. Cite accordingly.
  4. Students will turn in a mock process recording, of at least 5 pages and no more than 10, of how they imagine a segment of their session would go implementing the intervention with their created family. The template for the process recording is attached to this document.
  5. All material must be at college-level writing with correct APA citations.

The BPS model provides a framework for conducting a comprehensive review of the client to determine the causative actors and conditions that may influence their recovery process. In such a way, the consideration of the presenting family would require looking at the biological, psychological and social factors relevant to the life of the persons in the family (Buckner et al., 2012). For the biological factors, the medical practitioner needs to consider the vital biological parameters such as gender, genetics, immunity, and physical health of the person, among others, all of which have an influence of the overall wellbeing of the person, and how they would respond to any interventions applied on them (Buckner et al., 2012). A similar approach is to be applied in view of the psychological and social considerations. In so doing, it is possible to identify the specific problematic scenarios, experiences and factors which may have interplayed to result in the problem, and therefore determine the most appropriate approach for managing the situation to achieve the optimal outcomes.
