Nantel-Vivier, Pihl, Coté, & Tremblay (2014) study, ‘Developmental association of prosocial behaviour with aggression, anxiety and depression from infancy to preadolescence’, involved exploration of association between mental health and pro-social behavior on children. Basic motive for the study was based on the identified outcomes of prior studies indicating that pro-social behaviors, including cooperating, helping, comforting, and sharing, have largely been considered behaviors directed to benefit others and/or promote positive social relationships. Prior studies have indicated that childhood pro-sociality has a positive correlation with numerous makers of adjustment and well-being, but the research aimed at determining linkage between mental health and pro-sociality have yielded mixed reactions.
