This question can be answered twofold in the sense that; having different views among the Australians is not divisive in the instance where such views are in an effort of growing the government or pointing out issues that need to change. However, in the instance when the different views are in relation to the marginalized groups in the Australian society; then such issue can divide the country negatively (Furlong & Cartmel, 2006). For instance, if the government is for improving the lives of the aboriginal people and there are views against it then such issues may divide the Australian society.
