Reconciliation in Australia is founded on non-indigenous and indigenous Australians coming to a candid understanding of communal history and binder to making up accommodating partnerships that are founded on respect and trust and appreciation of the distinct rights of aboriginal people (Howitt, 2006).  Hence, previous and current policies will have a major impact on reconciliation in the sense that, not one single community in Australia is it non-indigenous or indigenous Australians will feel left out or discriminated against by the government.
