Discussion: Silicon Valley startups hiring Ivy League students
Instructions
Why do you think so many Silicon Valley startups hire Ivy League students? Are they the best people for the jobs? Would people from other backgrounds have something to offer?
Answer Preview
It has been observed that when one is not from top tire schools then, he/she has no brand, no network, and no interest from investors or respect from startup recruiters. This reveals that if one is not an Ivy League student then he/she should not bother trying to be relevant in Silicon Valley no matter good the person is. It therefore seems impossible to make a connection in the Silicon Valley. Looking at best leaders recruited to run large Silicon Valley based firms, and founders of best funded apps it seems that Silicon Valley is primarily focused on those with background in the Ivy League.
