Answer preview

Prior to examining the influencing factors to entrepreneurial decision-making, it is critical to review the role of an entrepreneur as a decision maker. Researchers have examined roles of an entrepreneur from a theoretical perspective (Shepherd & Rudd, 2014; OhK and Hong, 2017). While many scholars agree that an entrepreneur plays a critical role as combining resource to value to an economy, Ashraf et al. (2015) believes that the most important role is taking risks and managing resources and factors of production to ensure consistent value creation even in times of uncertainties. In their paper examining entrepreneurial management in small businesses, Ashraf et al. (2015) assigns the important role of decision-making to entrepreneurs, especially in strategic scenarios.
