The fashion industry is one of the main producers of environmental waste (Goworek, 2011; Kim et al., 2011). This includes the production waste as well as the used clothes that end up in the garbage bins.  In the wake of global warming and other environmental degradation concerns, the UK parliament and other environmental stakeholders continue to exert pressure on firms to adopt environmentally-sustainable production and supply chain practices (UK Parliament, 2019).
