Answer preview

Evidence is the raw material of argumentation. Evidence comprises of facts, opinions, and objects that are useful in generating proof. The advocate needs to bring together all the necessary raw materials through reason and providing new conclusions. The use of evidence is limitless, although it is most useful in debates as it can conclusively settle an argument. The impact that evidence will have the decision is precious. However, the effect is dependent on evaluation. The judges or jury have to evaluate the evidence and determines its viability before it can be used conclusively in the final verdict. One of the factors that have a bearing on the viability is the source of the evidence (Austin & Steinberg, 2009).
