On 16th January, 2014 Oxford surgeons reported that it is possible to use gene therapy to treat blindness and that they had enhanced the vision of about six patients who might have then become blind. In the surgery, the doctors inserted a gene into the patient’s eye and by the end of the therapy; they revived the light-detecting cells. The technique is a notable breakthrough in eye care and in the biological aspect of natural science. It is anticipated that with time the treatment would become a remedy to various kinds of blindness (Ghosh, 2014). The surgeon who spearheaded the research, Prof Robert MacLaren asserted that he was extremely happy following the success and the biological experts could not desire anything the event.
