Global Media’s contribution to the Arab Spring
Instructions
Answer preview
The global media has bridged the gap in accessing information from different parts of the world as opposed to before where communication between countries was impeded by geographical barriers (Zejnullahi, 2016, p. 150). This paper explores the role of global media in the Arab Spring uprising that started in North African and spread across the Middle East in 2010, sparking a revolution against the status quo that characterised the regions. While the paper does not argue that the global media prompted the Arab Spring, it underscores the role of global media in the occurrence of the uprising. The Arab Spring is characterised by a revolution and anti-government objections (Al-Azdee & Metzgar, 2018).
