Answer preview

Anthropogenic causes of global warming are the human actions and activities that contribute to the escalation of the atmospheric temperatures. In his book The Discovery of Global Warming, science historian Spencer Weart (2003) outlines how human actions over the past decades have come a long way to gradually contribute to global warming. Temperatures are on the rise because human actions have dramatically increased the amount of carbon dioxide in the earth’s atmosphere by burning fossil fuels such as coal, gas and oil. Carbon dioxide among other gases is a well-known greenhouse gas which traps the suns heat, heating up the earth’s atmosphere. Deforestation is another example of an anthropogenic cause of global warming.
