Answer preview

The Haitian revolution is the largest most successful slave rebellion movement in the Western Hemisphere (Stanley, 2017). The revolution took place on the island of Hispaniola, east of Cuba on the Caribbean Sea. Haitian slaves rebelled against French control from 1791 and completely abolished slavery by 1803. The local Haitian population led by Toussaint l’Overture a former slaver first rebelled against colonial planters in August 21 of 1791 (Stanley, 2017).
