Zhu Yuanzhang was the founded the Ming empire and who ruled between 1368 and 1398; his contributions were highly esteemed as they were instrumental in shaping the destiny of the empire (Sommer, 2004). Some of the political ideologies of Yuanzhang were touted as the bedrock of a rich historical compilation that fueled the growth of the empire in subsequent generations. Despite the emperor exhibiting some form of authoritarian leadership traits, a majority of his input was significant for the survival of the dynasty in the fierce battles that were drawn by rival empires. Therefore, his invaluable contributions to the historical platform of the empire can be analyzed through the following personalities.
The Counselor personality (INFJ) can be used to describe Yuanzhang since he was visionary when it comes to dictating how Ming dynasty would become in later generations (Personality Perfect, 2016). Yuanzhang demonstrated creativity and imagination while in founding a dynasty that would outdo the other dynasties; He had a particular way that he viewed the progress of the empire. For example, the emperor was determined to ensure his reign was relevant to subsequent generations and shaped the political landscape of the kingdom. Also, he knew that his sons (princes) would succeed him and try to implement his ideologies. Therefore, as part of grooming their capabilities, Zhu allowed them to rule some sections of the dynasty in a bid to get the first-hand experience in governance matters (Andrew, 1985).
