North America is one of the regions that have been highly hit by earthquakes. As a result of the consistent earthquakes, there have been plans by scientists to try and understand the cause of the earthquakes and explain the consistency that they often offer from these regions. These earthquakes have led to so much frustration in the regions; they act as one of the major sources of underdevelopment in these areas as (Hough 2016). The science of earthquakes in South America did not start so long ago, but then the progress that it has made has been exemplary over time because it has led to more awareness and general positive attitude in this field as such.
