Bar chart

A bar chart is a graphical presentation of data that shows a comparison between different categories. The chart has bars with each bar height representing quantity within that category. The category name is always along the x-axis of the graph. In order to read the value of a particular category, you read the matching value along the y-axis. However, some bar charts are easy to read since the category values are within the bar.
