At that juncture South Sudan became one of the independent states of Africa with Juba as the capital. After the much important referendum of July 2011, Salva Kir was bestowed with the mantle of leadership for the youngest Africa republic. Riek Machar became the vice president and other ministerial positions and top government positions were shared out to satisfaction of everybody including international observers (Nkoladou, 2014).This was to mark a new dawn in the Sub- Saharan state and the celebratory moods for the next few months were a sign of optimism and good times ahead. However, in 2013, after some disgruntles from Riek Machar’s camp over alleged dictatorial leadership of President Salva kir, a deadly civil war broke out. Machar’s group had turned into opposition and were viciously and maliciously fighting the government. As a result, scores 0f people were killed, others were maimed and another fraction displaced from their homes. The situation has been made worse by the prolonged drought.
