Innovation around modern fridge systems began with the natural harvesting of ice in early 1800.  Tudor was a businessman seeking to establish a large-scale supply chain of distributing ice to different parts of England (Rees, 2013). Within a few years after the start of ice harvesting, many Americans preserved their perishable items in insulated iceboxes made of wood and covered with zinc or tin lining. Early refrigerating systems comprised large ice blocks that were labor-intensive in creation and distribution on a regular basis. Tudor, like many well-to-do families, stocked blocks of ice for summer days. One of the major innovations in early 1800 was that storing ice in blocks would last for long. In late 1800, ice blocks had become an inevitable method of preserving perishable foods; cold had become a perfect choice (Rees, 2013).
