Impossible Love”, is a poem that depicts a theme of love and the impossibility of the same for two lovers. In many occasions, women are the people who show emotional affection towards their male counterparts. However, this poem is a clear indication that men can suffer from emotional heartache, so severe that they can premeditate suicide. He states “And I know that you are gentlewoman and I have no alternate, and I know that the kindness time is ended”. Moreover, the author does not see the possibility of reaching her love, as there is too much distance between them. Furthermore, he indicates that reaching the lover is not impossible to him, but to his lover it is a delusion and suicide.
