Answer preview

Emotional quotient (EQ) is the ability to recognize, evaluate and regulate emotions of oneself, other people and of groups. Initially a lot of members had misconceptions about EQ (Stein & Book, 2011). Most of them struggled with differentiating between Intelligence Quotient (IQ) and EQ. While IQ is acquired from standardized tests, EQ assesses the capability to recognize and control emotions of one-self towards others. This far from what the members thought. The members perceived the IQ to be more important than the EQ. they believed that IQ was an overall guarantee to an efficient and effective workspace. This, however, is not the case as EQ is equally of importance.
