Daniel pink gives what he refers to as the intrinsic ways to motivate workers, and they are autonomy, mastery and purpose. Daniel Pink defines autonomy as the situation where workers are allowed to direct themselves. When an employee is given some level of autonomy in the workplace, they will counter the tradition of management where they are required to comply. Autonomy can be given to employees through their allowance of free time, teams, tasks and techniques which they can do with whatever they want. In autonomy, flexibility and freedom are major. When it comes to mastery, Daniel Pink describes it as the desire to keep getting better at doing something.
