Leadership is deemed to be one of the most crucial components for the success of any organization. For organizations to prosper and survive in the contemporary world of competition, they need an increased level of leadership. It is clear that psychologists and business leaders have attempted to identify main leadership theories and models to depict what exactly makes a true and good leader. They have also studied leaders’ behavior and their attitude towards motivating employees to succeed. From the discussed theories, trait theory is one of the leadership theories that appeal to me (Nahavandi, 2008). This theory appeals to me because it holds that leaders have specific innate traits that permit them to lead traits such as dependability, assertiveness, adaptability, and persistence.
