The aim of this article is to understand what accomplishments markets make that cannot be made by any other alternative and how they accomplish. Understanding how markets work to meet their goals and satisfy society’s needs is difficult. In Order to understand how markets work, various criteria will be discussed in the article as well as how it interacts with Christians.

Markets work by handling challenges like scarcity which is one of the challenges that faces humans in their day-to-day life. Resources such as time and money are never enough, and therefore, in order to deal with markets, producers and consumers need to know how to work in limited resources. Consumers and Producers use limited resources by making careful choices with respect to their self-interests and not being selfish at the same time. Christians on the other hand recommend that people should have a simple life and share their surpluses to avoid the sin of selfishness that could be brought about by scarcity, therefore, they have to make good decisions to balance their getting and what they are giving out. Although consumer choices depend on self-interests, Christians exclude certain things in the market for the sake of their moral and spiritual values. For example, they exclude the purchase of pornography and consider helping others instead of rampant materialism. In markets consumers and producers need to sacrifice themselves in order to achieve some higher goals, Christians have no problem doing that as they are not trapped by the earthly pleasures, and they also know how to work in unison.
