The causes of obesity might be hormonal, genetic or behavioral. When people consume excessive calories than their bodies can burn through normal daily activities and exercise, the result is often obesity. The excess calories are stored by the body as fat. It must be noted, however, that in certain instances, obesity is as a result of medical causes. For instance, Cushing’s syndrome and Prader-Willi syndrome have been known to cause obesity (Aslam, 2018). In general, however, obesity has certain principle causes. These include unhealthy eating habits, unhealthy diets, as well as inactivity.
