As I pursued the degree in mechanical engineering, I gained significant experience from internships. As an intern at the University of Southampton, I designed and implemented a novel wearable sensor for heart rate monitoring by conducting extensive research. Completion of the project required wide-ranging consultations with peers and tutors. I was required to demonstrate strong research skills and scientific knowledge of the research subject. The successful completion of individual projects demonstrated my grasp of research skills, time management and academic excellence, graduating with 1st Class honors.
