The procedures are traced many years’ back and was done to enhance physical attractiveness. One of the old plastic surgery procedures was cheek piercing among others. Over time, this specialty has grown due to advancement in technology. In the past, there were two factors that limited the number of plastic surgery patients. First, there was little social and cultural acceptance of the practice (Castle, 2017). Second there were no reliable tools and procedures that would have been used to ensure the process is safe and successful.
