To start with, as these changes have been occurring in the way that people create and share news, the news audience has been changing. It may be argued that news audiences have been able to access information and entertainment more easily. News is not just meant to inform people about what is happening around them. It is also a way of getting entertainment. For example, by reading newspapers or watching TV, the audience gets information about the events of the day, as well as information about products (adverts) among others. This underscores the fact that news plays a vital role in people’s lives. Today, it is almost as if people cannot live without news.
