Suicide is an individual’s voluntary act of ending their life. Factors that affect suicide include mental illnesses. Other external factors are environmental stresses such as financial constraints and relationship struggles.
An individual who is suicidal exhibits warning signs. They may repeatedly threaten to end their life verbally or through writing. Signs of self-harm include overdosing on drugs or standing in the way of harm such as lying on a railway line or a road in use. Withdrawal behaviors; the individual becomes withdrawn from people who previously had close relations and interaction. Sudden noticeable mood swings. The individual may change from a depressive state to a happy mood to being in range and angry. Loss of interest in things they valued in life such as appearance.
