The two key reasons why I wish to pursue the DNP program relate to one key contribution in the nursing practice; to be useful to be dependable by the subsequent generation of nurses. It is evident that the expanding roles of nursing practice will require competent nurses who can easily adapt to different settings and practice situations. This is where my role as a nurse currently comes in; to set a basis of critical thinking and probing different problems. Popular nurse practitioners and researchers such as Linda Aiken expended most of their time and efforts to study nursing and influence others. Using the two key reasons as the driving force, I can become useful not to the nursing community, but also to the larger community in the healthcare system.
