Reliability Scenarios

Instructions

In a two-page paper design three different testing situations where a different type of reliability (test-retest, internal consistency, and scorer agreement) would be the most important for the test to possess. Also in each of these hypothetical testing scenarios, identify some potential sources of random error and explain how they would serve to lower the reliability of the test (factors that influence reliability are discussed beginning on page 205).

Journal submission requirements:

  • Your submission should be 2-3 pages in length
  • Use correct APA formatting for in-text citations
  • Title page with running head and references page

This reliability defines the results’ consistency as delivered in a test. It seeks to ascertain that the different items determining the diverse constructs give scores that are consistent. Simply put, it gauges how well a survey or a test measures the area of interest. An example of this would be a store. In determining the level of customer satisfaction regarding the services that they receive, the owner could send a survey that contains 3 questions (Francis, 2017). These questions are designed in a manner that enables them to measure overall satisfaction.
