Part A: Identify a short list of characteristics for 3 to 6 (depending on the size of team) of the following types of company that would make potential foreign markets attractive for entry or further market development. I need 5 companies (for example:a Japanese or S. Korean electrical appliance and consumer electronics company – samsung) because 5 members in my team.
Part B: Identify and describe the main modes of entry any one company from the list given in A) of the Team Report briefing (previous slide) could use to enter or expand its operations in non-domestic markets. For any one selected company from the list choose the entry method most suitable for entering into or expanding its business within:
1. A less developed early stage emergent nation with low per capita income, some political instability but high and rapidly growing population
 2. A large later stage emergent country with rapid but slowing rate of growth, large population, medium per capita  but  unequal levels of  income and less developed but improving infrastructure
 3. A mature, large, high income level developed country with slowly growing or static GDP per capita with well developed infra- structure, political stability and efficient administrative systems.
Just choose one company and analysis three markets.

  • Close association with leading regional brands- Fiat often engage in alliance with leading brands regionally. For example, it entered into a joint venture with Indian Tata Motors (Pcom, 2015).
  • A history of close links with strong brands: Fiat demonstrates a strong history of linkages with luxury and vintage car brands such as Maserati and Ferrari (Tcom, 2018).
