Social media simply refers to websites and applications that have been designed specifically to allow users to share their content in real-time, quickly and efficiently. It is simply a communication tool that can be accessed by smart phone or by computers. Assuming that social media is a medium for checking out personal information only is a misconception. It is true that social media began primarily as a tool for socialization.
