Undoubtedly, successful companies will always relate their success to the motivation of their employees. The productivity of a worker boils down to his/her motivation at the workplace. However, Brisbane has had to contend with employees with low morale judging from the results of a survey conducted by Fairfax Media in 2017. Almost 50% of the workers claimed they were uninspired to give their best to the organization for several reasons (McCosker, 2018). Mainly, the main course of low morale arises from a stressful workplace environment. Too much stress has been crucially responsible for making the workers get uninspired; hence, find no reason to give their best. Several factors contribute to employees’ stress, top amongst them being long working hours, massive workloads, tight deadlines, or job insecurity, among others (Albrecht, 2015). The implications of low morale are enormous. First, it causes a disconnection between employees and senior management. For instance, at Brisbane County Council, employees feel that top management is not doing much to address their issues. In that regard, they could be reluctant to take orders from them, resulting in workplace conflicts. Secondly, poor productivity arises because the workers do not feel the urge to contribute positively to the organization. The workers at Brisbane feel uninspired to give their best which in turn affects the performance to their organization (McCosker, 2018).
