Histamine plays a critical role in the regulation of physiological functions and it can influence different cellular processes involved in immune process. Therefore, Histamine act as a link between four G-Protein-coupled histamine receptors. H1R and H2R function as dendritic cells whose roles include the functioning of TH1and TH2 processes. Conversely, H3R function as by mast cells whose stimulation evokes the down regulation of TNF-a. Lastly, H4R functions as leukocytes which triggers the de-regulation of IL-12 (Dijkstra et al. 2008). The primary functions involving histamine include: acting as a transmitter; regulation of peripheral vaso-activity; acting in the acid section in the gastrointestinal to regulate immune response; Inflammation; as well as hematopoiesis. These activities are illustrated in the figure below
