Instructions
You will make a weekly contribution to your individual journal reflecting on your learning for the week and applying theory to real-world examples and case studies.
Each week (from week 2-10) you will write an entry into your journal that:
- Summarises what you have learned from the week’s readings
- Builds on previous weeks’ learning as appropriate.
- Reflects on a key point(s) you feel is important to public relations practice; and
- Applies this to public relations practice (include examples from case studies or current campaigns that you’ve seen – include links and embedded information/media in your entries)
Answer Preview
The letters campaign of Snapple is a real-world illustration of the “Big Idea” that the PR division created at Kirschenbaum & Bond. Wendy- a Snapple employee who was responsible for receiving, reading, and responding to the letters offered the organization an idea to facilitate its good public association. The idea to involve the public in the production of publications led to a solid relationship between Snapple and the public.
