Military use of autonomous systems began with WWII as military forces executed guided weaponries[1], however, the advent of modern technologies has augmented military capabilities[2]. Remote-controlled vehicles and drones are utilized to execute tasks considered too dangerous for the physical presence of humans. Recent trends, however, involve developing fully autonomous systems that require minimal or no involvement of humans. Many nations, including Singapore, have adopted automated weapons with capabilities such as tracking, targeting, and firing upon authorization. Common autonomous systems include intelligence surveillance systems that monitor the borders and detect potential threats.
