There is also Greek mythology that talks of floods. The Greek story tells of a god named Zeus who was among other gods. Together they had created mankind but unfortunately, they became sinful, mean, and disrespectful to them. This angered Zeus particularly and he also set out to destroy them with floods. One of the gods asked for Zeus’s mercy upon one man named Deucalion and his wife Pyrrha who were seen to be obedient to the gods. The two were asked to build a big boat to save them from the floods. The flood then came and destroyed everything except those in the boat and those who had managed to climb the mountains. The floods lasted for nine days and nine nights (Stein & Stein, 2011).
