The research will seek to differentiate between archaeologists and thieves; anyone that disturbs the peace of a pharaoh in their resting place is susceptible to a curse that can cause death, illness or bad luck. Is the curse real? Commentators, scholars, and pundits have in the past established that radiation and bacteria resulted in the deaths of people that visited the tombs. The research will aim to determine whether the curse of the pharaohs is a scientific or cultural phenomenon. Historians have not been able to identify any scientific evidence concerning the existence of the curses terming them as misconceptions. Many studies have refuted the existence of the curse and often termed it a myth. I will use my research to alienate the divergent views from the different strategies and techniques that I will employ.

Strategy and presentation

The method I will use to collect data will depend on logistical and physical limitations, time constraints and the level of skills and accuracy required (Maxwell, 2016). Local Egyptologists and historians will inform the gist of my research.  When collecting data from the participants, I will use more than one method; this will involve focus groups, surveys, and interviews. I will carry out interviews with the local Egyptologists using structured questions on the element of the curse associated with pharaoh’s tomb. The questions will be similar to identify scientific or cultural aspects of the curse.
