The two authors are addressing the same problem of how people can easily misinterpret a situation or a phenomenon in society if only they take one side.    They are challenging the author that sometimes, the way they see a problem is different from the reality of the matter.   Society normally views poverty as a social problem that only hurt the poor but rarely sees it as a construct by the elite to serve their personal economic interest therefore poverty is a good element of society.
